Calculators

One question each, answered under Indian rules — what a SIP comes to, how long a corpus lasts after tax, what a retirement needs, whether prepaying a loan beats investing. Those still to be built are listed too, marked Soon.

How these calculators are built

Every one of them is written for Indian rules rather than translated into them. Capital gains use the current long-term rate and the ₹1.25 lakh yearly exemption, drawn down in the order the gains are realised. Government schemes carry their notified rates and the limits that come with them — the PPF cap, the SSY opening age, the SCSS maximum — from one file that is updated when a quarter's notification changes, so no page can quietly disagree with another.

There are 9 live, with 2 more listed below as Soon. If you are starting from nothing, the Retirement Calculator sizes the target and the monthly investment that reaches it; the SIP & Lumpsum Calculator runs that investment forwards or solves it backwards from a goal. Once there is a corpus to spend, the SWP & Tax Calculator shows how long it lasts after tax, the SIP + SWP Calculator puts both halves of that life on one chart, and the Interest & CAGR Calculator settles what a quoted rate is actually worth.

Where each one stops

Each result is an illustration, not a projection: a single assumed return stands in for years that will not resemble each other, and nothing here knows your tax position. Expense ratios, exit loads, penalties for early closure, TDS and surcharge sit outside all of them, and every page says where its own model ends rather than leaving you to find out.

Where the order of returns matters rather than their average — a drawdown, a bucket refill — a flat rate stops being enough, and the tools replay real market history instead. Between the two, start with the calculator: it is faster, and it usually tells you whether the harder question is worth asking.

Everything else here

  • SWP & Tax Calculator — How long a corpus lasts under monthly withdrawals — with FIFO capital-gains tax, the ₹1.25 lakh exemption and a replay against real Indian index history.
  • Retirement Calculator — Find the corpus your expenses need after inflation and the monthly SIP that builds it, then stress-test that corpus against real Indian market history.
  • 3-Bucket Retirement Strategy — Split a retirement corpus into safety, stability and growth buckets, run the refills month by month, and compare it against holding one pot.
  • SIP & Lumpsum Calculator — Project what a SIP, a lumpsum or both will be worth, with step-up support — or solve the other way and find the monthly investment a target actually needs.
  • SIP + SWP Calculator — Run a SIP and an SWP as one plan: pay in weekly to yearly, draw out on any schedule, and see how long the corpus lasts after capital-gains tax.
  • Loan Prepayment Calculator — See what extra money put into a home loan really buys: interest saved, months cut, and whether investing it instead would leave you better off.
  • Portfolio Benchmark Comparison — Backtest multi-fund portfolios against NIFTY total-return indices: rolling returns, volatility, drawdown and SIP or lumpsum growth over real NAV history.
  • Govt. Scheme Calculators — Calculate PPF, SSY, NSC, KVP, EPF, NPS, APY, PM-SYM, PM-KMY, SCSS and Post Office savings, RD, TD and MIS outcomes with clear India-specific formulas.
  • Interest & CAGR Calculator — Compare simple against compound interest on one deposit at any compounding frequency, and find the CAGR between two amounts — by duration or by dates.
  • FIRE Calculator — When could you stop working? All five FIRE numbers — Lean, Traditional, Fat, Coast and Barista — with Indian inflation, healthcare and capital-gains tax.
  • Financial Goal Calculator — Price a home, education, car or any goal at its future cost and see the monthly SIP, lump sum or time it takes — with inflation, step-up and many goals.
